my favourite music from 2024

I’ve created three Spotify playlists of my favourite music discovered in 2024. As with the films, there’s no particular connection to the release date, although many tracks are indeed from last year.

• 💾 Future Noir > 🎛️ Cosmic Synth > 🎹Wizard Disco • 24 has a selection of synth and electronic work in three different flavours.

• 💀 BR△IN W△VES • 24 is a long, ranked list of my favourite weird wave tracks (in reverse order, so it just keeps getting better). As a music fan this is probably my favourite genre of music, that sort of weirdo synth pop, goth disco sort of hinterland that I don’t know what anyone calls these days.

• B😋DY PARTY • 24 💪 is similar but very much dance music. As a hobby I have been collecting and ranking a lot of rave, acid house, eurodance and trance tracks of the 90s-00s, so there is some of that in here. Also some more recent music in a similar vein and then the clubbier end of the same spectrum as the Brain Waves playlist, some of which came out of my preparation for DJing over the summer.Also ranked in reverse order.
